Full Description: While in Afghanistan, I had my 68 Pontiac Firebird professionally redone. It was originally a 400 car. I don't have the original 400, but I do have a 68 400 motor that came in the car and needs rebuilding. It runs, but has crank leak. In it's place, I've put in a freshly rebuilt (5k)Pontiac 350 out of a 71 Firebird. The motor has a brand new Edlebrock manifold on it, with a Holley Avenger carb, and Hedmann headers. The motor is backed by a TH 400, and the exhaust sounds great. New radiator, new aluminum FlowKooler water pump help keep it cool. I thought it was overheating; after a new radiator, swapping motors, new thermostat, new manifold, and new FlowKooler pump, it turns out that the temp sensor is off! I ran it during 95 degree heat, and infrared thermometer showed 190 at the thermostat housing...go figure. The body is all new from the doors back. New doors, all new sheet metal in the trunk and back end, new gas tank. The front engine bay has new radiator supports. The cocktail shakers are installed up front. I do have a pair for the rear that are out of the car. The car was stripped, and House of Kolor Candy Burgandy was shot on it. Looks fantastic. The top has a new StayFast top, black, with a solid 1 piece glass that zips in and out as you raise/lower the top. Looks great on the car. Of course, all new rubber seals are everywhere (doors, trunk, engine compartment, top). I have 15" rally II wheels on the car, which were color matched to the car. The interior of the car is all fresh; the dash was color matched to the exterior. I've put a Grant steering wheel in there, and it looks really good. An aftermarket console with cup holders sits between the front seats. There is a new B & M shifter between the seats. The rear arm rests are still in good condition, but they need to be freshened to really be matching to the front of the interior. But they don't look bad. The front seats are from a 2000 Firebird. Driver's side is electric. All seats have been redone with black/gray material. There is an aftermarket alarm system that the previous owner put in; it also controls the door locks. A Sony stereo with iPod and aux input is in the dash, powered by 2 Kicker amps in the trunk. They never have been reinstalled in the trunk; I just have them sitting in there, hooked up. That has been a project I've not finished. This is a solid car, and have turned many heads. I just don't have room for it in our new house. Until our shop is built, I dont have room period. I've had a soft appraisal for $48k. I do need to get it hard appraised, but I've not had time. This is great car, and you're getting quite a package. I'd say it's about 98% done. If I had time and room, I'd put in a Vintage Air unit (it's non-AC car), and I'd redo the wiring (the previous owner's work is a mess) I've drove this all over St. Louis area, and up to Chicago.
